Totò Pop: How We Transformed Laughter into Design - Prince De Curtis Beyond the Mask: The Genesis of a 3D Icon.

How do you pack an absolute genius into just a few centimeters of bioplastic? This was the question that kept us up at night when we decided to create Totò Pop .

Antonio De Curtis isn't just an actor for us Neapolitans. He's a relative, a philosopher, a constant presence in our homes. The challenge was immense: we didn't want to create a caricature (there are already too many, often banal ones), but a design tribute that captured his elegance.

The Chin Line If you look closely at our Pop Totò, you'll notice that everything revolves around that asymmetrical chin line. It's the distinctive feature that made his mask immortal. In our 3D modeling process, we spent days working on that curve alone: it had to be pronounced, ironic, but never grotesque.

The Bowler Hat and Nobility The other key element is the bowler hat. In the SANTO POP® design, the shapes are clean, almost minimalist. The black bowler hat, simple and perfect, contrasts with the finish of the face, always reminding us of this man's duality: on one hand, the popular mask of Totò, on the other, the melancholic nobility of Prince De Curtis.

Totò Pop isn't a toy. It's our way of saying thank you to those who taught us that "gentlemen are born," but Neapolitans become so through love.
